On March 16 and 17, 2019, the 4th Company, Brigade of Guards traveled to Greensboro, North Carolina to take part in the annual re-enactment of the Battle of Guilford Courthouse.
An annual pilgrimage for the unit, Guilford is the farthest that many of us travel for the hobby - but also is possibly the most important to us. Not only does it commemorate a battle that played a significant role in the outcome of the American Revolution, but its mud-caked fields, ravines, and hills are the very grounds that saw so many Guards fall in battle nearly 250 years ago.
We will post a more detailed analysis of the battle in the coming days. But for now, we wanted to share some excellent video of the 4th Company re-enacting the tactics of the North American conflict and some key historical moments for the Guards on March 15, 1781.
